So the thing about putting together a DIY wedding is that, funnily enough, you actually have to DO a lot of it yourself. Even though I’m kind of obsessed with this line of work, I might be in a tad bit over my head. Luckily, I live my life in a state of semi-denial, so I am just chugging along like I know what I am doing. Play along, will you?
One of my recent DIY accomplishments was our table numbers. I know I’ve mentioned this once or twice or ten times before, but my Cameo die-cutting machine? A DIY bride’s dream come true. John and I had gone back and forth about how we wanted our table numbers to look, but finally, I made the executive decision to die cut a favorite font out of gold poster board (yes, POSTER BOARD) and glue the numbers onto wooden dowels dipped in my favorite Martha paint. The fact that my Cameo can even think about, much less, actually CUT poster board is a gift in and of itself. I had to do a little hand-cutting here and there to clean up the edges a bit, but I’m positive that a fresh blade would slice through it like butter.
Even though we’re still not entirely sure just how many guests to expect (invitations go out next week..! hopefully…!), I have my poster board + my painted dowels at the ready to make more. DIY or die, y’all.
