Birthday Chain for An Almost-Three Year Old | Ann-Marie Loves

A certain almost-three year is excited about her upcoming birthday. VERY EXCITED. We’ve been talking about her birthday party for months and she has made it crystal clear that it needs to be based around two things: rhinos and rainbows. (Yep, you read that correctly).

Her party isn’t for another month, but her actual birthday is next week so we decided to make a paper chain countdown so she can “see” how many days are left until she turns the big T-H-R-E-E. (Also, how is she almost three?!?!)

As with most activities these days, she’s fully committed. Girl loves a project.

I’m pretty sure her favorite part of this craft is being able to use my tape runner.

Sidenote: I’ve worked for two different scrapbook companies and have had to do demos and make-and-takes for both. Every single time (every. single. time.) I would be showing someone how to make something cute out of paper and they would be far more fascinated by the tape runner than by anything creative I was making. And honestly, I can’t blame them; tape runners are magic!

The finished project!

After we wrapped up the paper chain project, we noticed a rainbow in the sky! I’m taking it as a sign that this “rhine-bow” party was meant to be ;)

Now the chain is hanging in Briar’s room as we eagerly anticipate the big day. Each morning we cut a link off and talk about what kind of birthday cake that she wants.

Now if I could just get her to be this excited about potty training. Hmmm…
