Underwood Family Farms | Ann-Marie Loves

I’ll be honest: I don’t love where we live.

As hard as I try to get on board with this city, it’s just not my jam and it probably never will be. I could be a Debby Downer and rattle off a ton of reasons why I’m not a huge fan but INSTEAD, I’ll focus on the redeeming qualities. For one — and this is a big one –we get free babysitting from our wonderful families. That alone make it worth it to stay close for a little while longer. Aside from having both sets of grandparents just a few minutes away, I love my gym (so many great classes!). I love my Trader Joe’s (super nice people!). I love Briar’s new school (she loves it, too!). I love all the drive-thru Starbucks (ha!). These are small things but they definitely make a big difference in the way I go about my days.

Something else I love? How close we are to Underwood Farms! I’ve talked about this place once or twice, but it really is an amazing gem. I mean, Kim and Kanye take their kids here so maybe this neck of woods isn’t thaaaat terrible ;)

This past weekend we needed to get out of the house so John suggested we make a trip to the farm. At first I scoffed at the idea because the combination of “being outside” and “dead of summer” isn’t usually my favorite pairing, but it turned out to be a great day to go! We went later in the afternoon and I brought along my big cam and my 50mm lens because I knew the lighting would be TOP NOTCH. (On a related photography note, I’ve been defaulting to this zoom lens lately but daaaaang, after this trip the 50 is now back in heavy rotation.)

We all had such a great time! Both of my kids go hard in the great outdoors and come away completely filthy but so happy. Whatever it takes!

P.S. If you read yesterday’s post, this is the necklace that Briar made! She did it all herself and I totally want to wear it!

Look at this crazy boy, scaling the hill like the wild animal that he is.

Briar and I took a lap around the farm via bumblebee.

Okay, remember when I said there’s no such thing as cute boy clothes? I LIED. Look at these shorts with suspenders! Forget the fact that they’re 3T and he’s only 10 months old…they kill me!

We spent a long time in the fields, picking fresh fruits and vegetables for this week’s meals. This butter lettuce made for a fantastic salad with Greek style feta dressing and Everything But The Bagel seasoning from Trader Joe’s.

Landon is totally John’s twin with my coloring. He’s also laid back like his dad and has a temper like his mom. Look out, world!
