It’s been a few weeks since last I shared my Capture album spreads, so I’m playing catch-up today!
I’ll let you in on a little secret: normally I make these pages the day before the BG blog post needs to go up and usually with only a few minutes left of daylight to photograph them in. (Procrastination. It’s what I do best.) But since I was going to be MIA from my computer for a few weeks thanks to the wedding, I had to make a bunch of pages in advance. That’s when I came to the realization that it’s so much more satisfying to get things done ahead of schedule! With natural light to spare! Ever since then, I’ve been designing, photographing, and blogging my projects way earlier than before. And it feels goooooood.
You can read all about my pages on my weekly column on the BG blog!
Getting rid of everything in sight is the name of the game these days. It was only fitting that it earned a spot in my Capture album!
Crazy two weeks ahead, but I had to squeeze in a fun Capture spread! This week I focused on the awesome pop-up photography workshop I recently attended and used a clear adhesive pocket to house all of the awesome memorabilia I collected. Easy peasy.
After working in the scrapbooking / craft industry for over three years, I’ve amassed an insane amount of product. It was ridiculous for me to think that I needed to keep it all this time, through various moves and craft spaces, “just in case” the right project came along and I absolutely could not create without that one pack of stickers. So, in an effort to lighten my load, I have filled sixteen large flat rate boxes with a ton of awesome products from a variety of manufacturers. I am so happy to lighten my load AND pass along a ton of supplies to good homes. You can get your own box of goodies here! Happy Friday!
For this week’s Capture spread, I used the backside of the October calendar pocket page insert and a 3 x 5″ / 4 x 6″ divided page protector. I also put my Cameo die cutting machine to work and used a handful of BG cut files to embellish my layout. I’m telling you, that machine…it’s the stuff of DIY dreams.
I’m loving the way the Stems cut file turned out on the Crumb Cakes paper from Persimmon. Just the right amount of pattern.
For this page, I treated one of my favorite Snippets like patterned paper and used it as a colorful background for my bridal shower photos. I also busted out the Persimmon waterfall pack for the title and label stickers.
And in the interest of keeping things real, this is what it looks like when I shoot my Capture spreads. Every. Single. Time.
Another week, another Capture spread! This time I changed things up a little and alternated one divided page protector with a calendar pocket insert for storing all of my wedding / bridal shower / moving-to-Pasadena memorabilia. Life is nothing short of CRAZYTOWN right now, but I’m trying my hardest to enjoy every last moment.
P.S. You can read more about my process + supply list here!
Another week, another Capture spread! The highlight of the past week was definitely seeing Flight of the Conchords (among other comedians) at Oddball in Irvine. ‘Twas AMAZING. Also, I may or may not have a fat crush on Jemaine.
To showcase the event, I used a full-size page protector to create a mini layout and tucked my ticket behind the photo. I also added a little title to my photo in Photoshop before printing, just to expedite the process a little bit. The “Favorite” Snippet actually comes from the 25th & Pine waterfall pack. Who says you have to wait until the holidays to use Christmas products? Not this gal!
On the second page, I used a 4 x 6″ / 1.25 x 6″ divided page protector to house two of my wedding crafting photos and that awesome die cut arrow paper from one of the designer journal inserts. There’s also a handful of the usual suspects, including label + arrow stickers, ledger paper, and red + pink Candy Buttons. But of course.
Hope your week is off to a great start! Don’t forget that tomorrow is the last day to enter to win a spot in this amazing class! ;)
Another week, another Capture spread! As much as I am ready for Fall and the start of the holidays, I’ve got stuff to do, September! Slow your roll! This week’s spread features a mix of Capture, Persimmon, and Carte Postale. I also used a mix of solid and divided page protectors to keep things from looking too uniform. Heaven forbid there be uniformity in my projects ;)
For this page, I alternated 3 x 3″ squares of Pecan Pie paper and a phrase die cut with photos. I also used a variety of Carte Postale embellishments, Capture vellum tape, and Candy Buttons to enhance the page even further.
On the second page, I used Capture ledger paper, Snippets, a gold feather, and alpha stickers to create a mini layout featuring one of my favorite wedding crafts that I worked on recently. Mini layouts juuuust might be my favorite way to use Capture albums. I definitely favor the rectangular shape and creative freedom, but on a smaller (read: more manageable) scale than 8.5 x 11″ pages.

For this week’s Capture spread, I used a mix of divided page protectors to showcase our recent engagement photos and two quick Instax pictures that we took on the fly (I lurve that little camera). I have to say that actually having lots of photos to pick and choose from (vs. scrambling to find images at the last moment) makes the whole creative process so much more fluid. Remember this, Ann-Marie!
For the left page, I used a mix of Capture, 25th & Pine, and Persimmon products, including my favorite supply of the moment / of all time: these printed feathers. Ugh, I’m obsessed. As always, I placed products above and below the page protectors to break up the grid and keep the pockets nice + smooth.
For the right page, I alternated photos with RSVP papers embellished with printed feathers, Capture alphas, and a little neon yellow paint.

Last week was all about big changes, so it was only fair that I titled my Capture spread accordingly (and as for those red-orange acetate alphas? I’ll take a thousand packs, thanks!). Additionally, I have no interest in this blazing Summer heatwave we are currently suffering through (#WHY), so I broke out all of my favorite new supplies from BG’s forthcoming Autumn and Christmas lines. That’ll snap a girl riiiight out of her overly-sweaty, anti-Summer funk. At least for five minutes.
Instagram photos of DIY wedding projects paired with some of my new fave supplies, including arrow die-cuts from Persimmon and the most perfect shade of aqua in the form of 25th & Pine vellum tape strips? YES PLEASE.
Lots of journaling this week, which felt like a nice change of pace for once. Usually I am trying to squeeze in as many photos as possible that I run out of room for writing down my thoughts. Alas, this week’s brain dump was made possible by a sheet from the always-handy Capture ledger pad. Yay for journaling!
