Grab Bag

During the great “I’m going to be pregnant forever so I might as well organize this house” situation in early August, I put together fifteen grab bags stuffed with paper craft supplies. Now that I’ve finally figured out how to balance a baby in my arms while I work (literally!), these bags are now in my shop! I hope they bring you many a happy crafternoon :)

Baby Album | Ann-Marie Espinoza

As I work on my album each week, I keep thinking “is this the final week? Will I have a baby picture to pop in next time?” But based on my visit to the doctor this past Tuesday, I still have plenty of pages left in me before any baby faces grace this album ;)

Baby Album | Ann-Marie Espinoza

I’m keeping things pretty simple these days with a full-sized photo flanked by a page of short journaling. Nothing too fancy. After all, those baby shower thank you notes aren’t going to write themselves!

For this page, I used an old sheet of Sassafras paper and embellished it with a Crate Paper journaling card, yellow washi tape, Thickers, and a Dear Lizzy dimensional heart sticker. I kept the journaling short and sweet as well.

For the second page, I printed out a 6.25 x 9.5″ photo from my maternity shoot a few weeks back and used a strip of mint masking tape and a phrase from a Project Life card for extra emphasis. Feeling the baby kick, roll, and punch is a feeling I never ever want to forget. It’s pure magic.

Happy Thursday (or Friday, for most Americans!)! Today I thought it would be fun to share some of the recent projects I designed for BasicGrey using their new Second City and Evergreen collections. So much fun!

Baby Album | Ann-Marie Espinoza

Happy Friday! Today I have two new pages from my baby album as well as two new printables in my shop to share! First up: the baby album progress…

Baby Album | Ann-Marie Espinoza Baby Album | Ann-Marie Espinoza

For the first page, I used a hot pink sheet of paper from BG’s Highline collection and then embellished it with a gold feather, a phrase die cut, candy buttons,  yellow washi tape, and aqua washi tape, which I then tucked into a full-size page protector. I also used the dotted lines on my “Kindly Send To” stamp to create a textured look across the background paper.

Baby Album | Ann-Marie Espinoza

For the second page, I used a 3 x 3″ Capture divided page protector to house my 20, 25, and 30 week bump shots. I also used my new 52 Weeks Journaling Card printables trimmed down to 3 x 3″ (I just trimmed a half inch off the top and a half inch off the bottom to make it work). You can read more about these printables below!

P.S. The jump in bump size from 25 weeks to 30 weeks? WHOA BABY. (Terrible pun intended.)

New Printables at Ann-Marie Loves Paper! | annmarielovespaper.bigcartel.com

This week has been one the more productive weeks that I’ve had in awhile, and as a result, I was able to crank out printables for both scrapbooking + pregnancy alike. Here are my two latest designs:

Pregnancy Week-by-Week Journaling Card Printables | annmarielovespaper.bigcartel.com
Pregnancy Week-by-Week Journaling Card Printables | annmarielovespaper.bigcartel.com

Pregnancy Week-by-Week Printables. I’ve been meaning to design these for quite some time, but I guess 8 months in as good a time as any, right? (Ha!) This set of printables includes 39 multi-colored cards (1 for each week of pregnancy, from week 4 to week 43), sized at 4.25 x 6.75.” They are perfect for weekly bump photos or even as inserts in a scrapbook or baby album! The best part of all is that if you don’t want them to be printed in color, you can always change your printer settings to black and white for a more uniform look.

52 Weeks Journaling Card Printables. This pack of printables features 52 journaling cards: 1 for each week of the year. Each card is 3 x 4,” making it perfect for memory-keeping systems such as Capture or Project Life. These printables can also be used for documenting a pregnancy, as you can see by my baby album pages above :)

Baby Album | Ann-Marie Espinoza

Awhile back, I made a bunch of spreads for BasicGrey’s forthcoming line, Grand Bazaar. Given my current focus in life (maybe you can guess what it is?), I used some of my favorite recent photos and went to town. I honestly can’t remember the last time I had that much fun scrapbooking…! Even though a lot of these images and topics have already been covered in my main baby album, it doesn’t bother me in the least. I’ve got more important things to worry about. Like how in the world do the dishes pile up so fast and what will the baby’s Instagram hashtag possibly be?? (2014 is officially the WEIRDEST?)

Here are some of my favorite pages that I pulled together:

Baby Album | Ann-Marie Espinoza

I’ve been having so much fun putting this album together lately! I think it’s partly because I’m making it for me (and not for an assignment) and partly because it means I am using up all sorts of random bits + pieces buried deep in my stash.

Baby Album | Ann-Marie Espinoza Baby Album | Ann-Marie Espinoza

The first page was made with one of my favorite old school Dear Lizzy papers, accented with gold triangles cut from my Cameo, a strip of phrase masking tape from Oh Hello Friend, and one of the badges I designed for Scrapbook and More.

The second page was made from a mailer that I received from Fab.com back in 2012. Given it’s hot pink hue and the cute “Hi” message, there was no way I could throw that thing out, so I turned it into an album insert instead! I used some of my favorite Highline papers from BasicGrey, white alpha stickers from Kelly Purkey, and my new favorite fine-tipped pen.

And finally, for the last page, I used a sheet of lined vellum to temper the busy color and graphics of this Highline paper for a fun muted background.

Baby Album | Ann-Marie Espinoza

This week has been busy, busy, busy, but I did manage to crank out a single spread for my ongoing baby album (albeit, on the floor of our impossibly messy office / nursery) (lord help us).

Baby Album | Ann-Marie Espinoza

For the first page, I designed a list of journaling prompts in Illustrator and then sized it down to fit on the backside of the previous page. When I can’t find what I’m looking for, I just design it myself! The gold heart and arrow were cut out with my Cameo onto adhesive-backed gold foil paper. (The “04″ stands for the month of April, in case you were wondering.)

P.S. Ignore the “healthy + happiness” in the last line of journaling. I promise I am grammatically proficient! ;)

You can download your own set of journaling prompts right here!

Baby Album | Ann-Marie Espinoza

For the second page, I used a sheet of pink patterned paper from a Studio Calico add on kit as my background and then added a large photo of my 25 week striped baby bump and a handful of other papers + embellishments, including yellow and aqua washi tapes, a BasicGrey gold feather, and one of the badges I designed for Scrapbook and More.

Baby Album | Ann-Marie Espinoza

As usual, I adhered the dimensional elements directly on top of the page protector. While it won’t make for easy photographing of the next page (ha!), it’s much easier to do it this way than to try and fit everything into the tight real estate of the plastic sleeve.

With only a few days left before I enter the third trimester (?!?!), I’ve finally decided how I want to design her “baby book.” I haven’t fleshed anything out yet, but I can tell you that it will be pretty untraditional in the sense that it won’t exactly be a book. Ahhh, I can’t wait to get started! :)

Baby Album | Ann-Marie Espinoza

Whereas last week was full of nonsense + frustration, this week is positively brimming with possibility and victory. What does this have to do with scrapbooking, you ask? Welp, I have no idea. But it sure makes everything easier when you have a skip in your step.

The latest pages of my album are all about two of my favorite pregnancy-related things thus far: baby bumps + miniature clothes. (Sidenote: I just compared my 13 week bump with my 23 week bump and it. was. shocking. I can only imagine what another 10 weeks is going to look like…!)

The lefthand page features an awesome letterpress card from one of Kelly Purkey’s amazing kits and a feather that I die cut from gold foil paper with my Cameo.

The righthand page is my 20 week bump shot from our recent trip to San Diego, printed at 6 x 9″ and tucked into a BG Capture page protector.

Baby Album | Ann-Marie Espinoza

On this spread, I pretty much only used what supplies were already on my desk. Sometimes it’s easier to just use those pieces up then it is to put them back where they belong ;)

Baby Album | Ann-Marie Espinoza

The lefthand page includes a sheet of one of my favorite new Capture papers and more gold letters (which peeled and stuck down like a dream).

Baby Album | Ann-Marie Espinoza

And finally, the righthand page features a mix of KP’s journaling cards and a fabric feather adhered to one of the tabbed pages that comes included with the Capture album.

I’ve started thinking about what kind of album I want to use to document my daughter’s life once she actually arrives and I’m definitely leaning towards photo books (something like this!) vs. scrapbooking. I’ll probably end up doing a mix of the two, but I’m still up in the air about it. Decisions, decisions.

BasicGrey Layout | Ann-Marie Espinoza

While organizing and purging everything I possibly could from my office yesterday, I stumbled upon a handful of layouts from CHA Winter that I hadn’t shared yet! I love when free blog fodder drops into my lap. Literally ;)

BasicGrey Layout | Ann-Marie Espinoza

Spice Market is one of my most favorite new collections to come along in quite some time. The saturated colors, the eclectic blend of patterns, and a handful of new embellishments all make it so much fun to play with! For this layout, I used a mix of patterned papers, Snippets, die cuts from the coordinating waterfall pack, and a one of the awesome new metal shapes.

BasicGrey Layout | Ann-Marie Espinoza
BasicGrey Layout | Ann-Marie Espinoza

For this layout, I used a combo of Capture patterned papers, element stickers, Scrabble chipboard letters, journaling + phrase cards from from the waterfall pack, and wood veneers that I painted with yellow craft paint. I love all the bright pops of colors in the latest Capture release! Totally up my alley.

Getting married and going on a honeymoon right before the tradeshow season gave me LOTS of photo options to pull from! (Heck, I’m still pulling from them!) For this page, I used more of the Capture patterned papers, die cuts from the waterfall pack, and a strip of the awesome new printed washi tape.

BasicGrey Layout | Ann-Marie EspinozaBasicGrey Layout | Ann-Marie Espinoza

For this last project, I used more of the Spice Market collection, including lots of label stickers from the waterfall pack and my new favorite printed chipboard alphas. Happy photos call for happy color palettes and that’s exactly what this line provided!

P.S. In my cleaning / organizing / purging whirlwind yesterday, I filled three large flat rate boxes of scrapbooking + craft supplies that need to find new homes. You can claim yours here! (Domestic shipping only – thanks for your understanding!)
